Tough Love and Tiger Woods

Observations

How different would our world be if most women used a gold club instead of a lawyer when dealing with a cheating husband.  Of course I am referring to Tiger Woods and his recent row with his wife  Elin Nordegren.

It looks as though Tiger has been unfaithful to his wife at least once and maybe several times during their marriage.  The public will probably never know every detail of what Tiger has been up to and that is for the best.  However, Tiger’s mysterious car crash of the past week and the circumstances surrounding the crash seem to indicate that his wife decided to act upon Tiger’s infidelity.

Instead of calling a divorce lawyer  it appears that she picked up a gold club and gave her husband a lesson on Tough Love.  The battered Tiger was reported to be wavering in and out of consciousness when the police arrived on the scene of his car accident.  (While driving it’s hard to avoid trees and hydrants when ones head is swimming from being clobbered by a golf club.)  He had injuries on his face that required treatment at a nearby hospital.  He was shoeless.  His auto windows were bashed out.  His wife stood nearby with golf club in hand.   Nike is Tiger’s sponsor.  One has to wonder if some of his facial injuries will bruise into the shape of a Nike logo.

Some of my friends seem to think his wife broke out with the golf club because she hates him for what he did.  I have a gut feeling that this is not the case.

The moral of the story is obvious but time will tell whether Tiger learned a lesson from it.  Thus far he has been man enough to take his lumps without crying to the police… without slapping her with a restraining order… without throwing her out of the house… all actions of choice for the emasculated.   Good for him.

What a gal! She should be the one named Tiger. His name should be Hound… or Mud.

Tiger is a perfect example of what happens when we idolize a human. He is flawed and imperfect as we all are. The media frenzy surrounding this shows our glamorous view toward celebrities. I hope he grows from this. It sounds to me like he has owned up to it with his wife but from what I read, it is not over.
